Membership in the Bequest Society occurs when an individual or couple indicates that The Rotary Foundation is a beneficiary in their will or other estate plan for a minimum of US$10,000 and notifies the Foundation in writing. Cash, securities, real estate, or property of any description may be given to The Rotary Foundation through an individual’s will or estate plan. The donor retains full control and use of the property during his / her lifetime. When the will is probated or the trust assets are distributed, the gift to The Rotary Foundation qualifies for a charitable deduction in computing estate taxes.

Types of gifts eligible for membership in the Bequest Society include:

• Bequests through wills, living trusts, and other retirement plan assets
• Whole and universal life insurance

Making a gift to The Rotary Foundation through your estate is very easy. After you have changed your estate / trust documents with your estate attorney to indicate a desire to make an estate bequest to the Foundation, you need to merely inform the Foundation of your desire or commitment to join the Bequest Society. Use Rotary International website  to inform the Foundation of this commitment.

All Bequest Society members receive recognition from the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation. Donors may elect to receive an engraved crystal recognition piece and a Diamond Circle pin. Diamond Circle pins will reflect the combined totals from personal outright contributions as well as bequest commitments. The Foundation recognizes  bequest society donors at six commitment levels

	Level Three	US$50,000
	Level Two	US$25,000
	Level One	US$10,000
