The Rotary Club of Rohnert Park - Cotati was chartered in 1977 by the Petaluma Valley Rotary Club.
Robert Tellander, a professor at Sonoma State University and member of the Petaluma Valley Rotary Club, was its charter president.
The first club project was the planting of trees at Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park.
