Contribution Recognition - Major Gifts
click to print this pageprint this page

The Rotary Foundation defines a major gift as a personal gift (outright or cumulative) of US$10,000 or more.  Major gifts are encouraged for both the Annual Programs Fund and the Permanent Fund. In either case, the donor must be asked to which fund he / she would like the gift designated. Gifts of under $50,000 to the Permanent Fund can be further designated with the spending portion of the gift applied to the World Fund, where the need is determined greatest by the Trustees; or through the SHARE system.

The Rotary Foundation recognizes those couples or individuals whose combined personal outright or cumulative giving has reached US$10,000. All outright contributions made to The Rotary Foundation are included in this total, regardless of the gift designation.

The Rotary Foundation recognizes these special donors at six gift levels:

Level Six US$1 million or greater
Level Five US$500,000
Level Four US$100,000
Level Three US$50,000
Level Two US$25,000
Level One US$10,000

Donors may elect to receive a crystal recognition piece and Diamond Circle pins commemorating the gift at each new recognition level. Diamond Circle pins will reflect the combined totals from personal outright contributions as well as bequest commitments.
